Analytics and Collaboration Added to Thunderhead Communication Platform

thunderhead NOW, communications releases v5With collaboration and analytics hot topics for every enterprise today, it's a little surprising that Thunderhead (news, site) hasn't added this type of functionality to their enterprise communications platform already. Better late than never, we suppose you could say as Thunderhead announces the latest version of their platform — 5.0 — with two tools: Analyze NOW and Contribute NOW.

NOW Enterprise Communications

Thunderhead released the first version of their NOW enterprise communications platform in 2003. It is a platform that enables organizations to easily create and manage personalized communications across multiple channels.

It has a number of optional modules including: Correspond NOW, Interview NOW, Review NOW, Approve NOW and the NOW schema adapter. Version 5.0 of the platform includes two new modules.

  • Analyze NOW: A package of analytical tools that will give management a close view into what's happening with their communications.
  • Contribute NOW:  A web-based solution that enables users to easily create new content and business rules for communications. It's designed for non-technical users like marketing, legal and compliance employees.

Record Growth So Far This Year

It's not really surprising that Thunderhead has had record growth in Quarter 1 of this year. After all they do offer an enterprise personalized communications solution and what do most organizations truly need today to be competitive?

With a number of new customers in the financial services and insurance markets, Thunderhead's growth increase of over 50% from the same period in 2008 is a true sign that organizations want to communicate with their customers.

What's Next?

Although we don't have insight into what new modules are likely in the works for the NOW platform, there must be something happening in the Enterprise 2.0 area.

Social computing solutions are an important component for communicating with your customers. It's only logical that this solution includes some type of social computing module in the near future.

Will it happen? We'll be watching to see.
