Serena Software, Inc. today announced that after successfully acquiring controlling interest in Merant on April 26, completion of the acquisition is now assured. The company has received valid acceptances in respect of over 90 percent of Merant's issued share capital. The Offer will close in 14 days time.

The Merant acquisition extends Serena's leadership position in mainframe software configuration management to distributed platforms, managing change throughout the application life cycle.

Enterprise Web leader Plumtree Software (Nasdaq: PLUM) today released a new services solution for building executive dashboards via the Plumtree Enterprise Web Suite. The services offering, called the Plumtree Executive Dashboard Solution, combines new integration products with a deployment methodology designed to deliver a dashboard application rapidly and at low cost. The typical application combines performance metrics with enterprise search, online collaboration and knowledge management, to give executives a way to respond to events as they emerge across the business.

Mobius Management Systems, Inc., the leading provider of software for total content management (TCM), today announced that it has acquired technology and certain other assets of privately-held eManage Inc. of Ottawa, Ontario. eManage develops software solutions for e-mail archiving, records management and lifecycle management that enable organizations to manage corporate records at an enterprise level. The eManage software suite includes a complete records management facility for Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server. eManage technology will be integrated with the Mobius ViewDirect� TCM suite to deliver a comprehensive enterprise content management solution that also meets e-mail and records management requirements.

Vignette & Interwoven - proceed with caution warns Ovum.

The entry into the Enterprise Content Management (EMC) market of Microsoft and the increased interest of IBM, Oracle and (via acquisition) EMC have lifted the bar on competitiveness. According to Ovum, the analyst and consulting company, this may well impact the ability of some dedicated vendors to compete effectively in the future.

Stellent, Inc. today announced the release of the Stellent Content Portlet Suite. The Content Portlet Suite is designed to enable portal developers to provide access to Stellent Universal Content Management services, such as check-in, workflow and search, via JSR-168 compliant portal servers such as BEA, WebSphere, Plumtree, and Sun Enterprise Server.

"Content Portlet Suite supports content requests from portals in real-time, directly from the content management system, through JSR 168 portlets," said Dan Ryan, executive vice president of marketing and business development for Stellent.
