Open Text, the largest provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, has announced a solution for fostering online "communities of practice". Communities will bring together people in an organization with similar responsibilities or interests.
The solution allows, for example, marketing professionals or purchasing managers to connect in ways they couldn't before, providing a forum where they can share information and best practices, and improve processes.

FBI Optimizes Indymedia CMS Servers

Yeah, I'm joking, but its really not that funny. In case you hadn't heard, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation siezed several of www.indymedia.org's servers from a Rackspace office in the UK the other day. They've since been returned, which is kind. And now the good guys over at Electronic Frontier Foundation are checking for "optimizations" before them boxes get put back online.

IBM Completes Acquisition of Venetica

IBM has completed its acquisition of Venetica, a provider of enterprise content integration software, based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The acquisition strengthens IBM's information integration capabilities, a strategic priority for IBM's Business Integration efforts and the company's on demand computing initiative. IBM announced a definitive agreement to acquire Venetica on August 26, 2004.
