We have the basic social standards in place. We have standards like Open Social, OpenGraph, OpenID, Activity Stream, and a number of APIs that let us connect to social networks like Twitter, Google+ and Facebook. There's no shortage of work happening to ensure the underlying technology is standardized.
But organizations are still challenged with understanding how social interactions in one social network might relate to another, which should be more important and how can you measure that? That's the idea behind Universal Social Standards as we will learn today. But what does it mean to have universal standards, who should be responsible for creating them and if we don't have them, what happens?
