If your social marketing campaign includes YouTube, what is the impact? To help answer that question, social analytics firm Simply Measured has announced that its tracking tools will now support YouTube.
The YouTube analytics will join similar measurements for Twitter, Facebook and Google+ on the company’s enterprise social measurement platform. Simply Measured said its platform is the only one to integrate engagement data for all four social networking services.
‘Critical Success Factor’
The new analytics enable customers to track engagement on a YouTube channel, use internal or competitive benchmarking to compare multiple channels or to measure YouTube against other social media efforts.
As with Twitter, Google+, and Facebook, Simply Measured’s new YouTube analytics allow brands to identify trends, measure engagement as indicated by new comments, new ratings and new favorites, compare total video views vs. new video views, see new and total subscribers over time, compare most-viewed videos, see top keywords mentioned and most active commenters and analyze other metrics.
The platform also offers the ability to compare YouTube performance against a particular industry or competitors, or to compare a brand’s multiple YouTube channels against each other.
CEO Adam Schoenfeld said in a statement that, for brands looking to build a major presence on YouTube and other social channels, “measuring and optimizing performance is becoming a critical success factor.” He noted that Kia Motors and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) are early adopters of the new measurements.
Free Report Marketplace
In addition to the YouTube analytics, the company has also recently launched its Free Report Marketplace, which offers data for a given brand for YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Klout and Google+ performance, up to a limited number of subscribers, “likes” or followers. The company is currently developing support for Pinterest, LinkedIn and Instagram.
YouTube straddles the realm between a video publishing platform and a social media outlet, and tools for measuring its social impact are now joining ones for Facebook, Twitter, and other common social media. In April, for instance, analytics firm Socialbakers added YouTube support to its recently announced Analytics PRO platform, which tracks Facebook and Twitter campaigns.
Based in Seattle, Wash., Simply Measured’s measurement and reporting solution collects social media data from over a dozen sources, and presents the data in a dashboard and in a variety of reports.
