Sitecore-based websites can now build in the Telligent Community social platform in order to condense more marketing, social and customer service features in one place. Telligent Connect adds new tools to Sitecore websites that should allow for smoother customer interactions and easier communication between Web Content Management, marketing and IT teams.

New Telligent features for Sitecore 6.4 websites include interest-based groups, activity streams and media galleries.

Telligent Connect adds more than 25 new features for Sitecore websites, and they represent a comprehensive social integration for modern, fun, easy-to-use sites.

Because social media is dominating so much of online discourse, enterprise 2.0 organizations need to be aware of what kinds of features customers want.  Do they really need to make a service call, or can they find something much faster in a video or targeted search?

Easy Sharing or Too Much Information?

Enterprise website admins know there is a key balance of design and simplicity on their websites, so baking social right into the CMS makes sense for most companies. Instead of linking out to social media sites, companies can feature those desirable attributes right in their own page designs.

For example, social marketing is a powerful way to promote ideas and products, and by adding discussion forums and status updates to a website, customers can link up with like-minded people and experts.

Sitecore and Telligent Grow Together

Telligent Connect for Sitecore is actually just a deeper integration of Telligent's Community social platform. The two first joined forces back in late 2009, but the latest move allows for more Community technology to be baked right into Sitecore products.

Telligent is touting the move as an easy way to simplify workflows, save money on set-up time and please both marketing and IT teams.

For Sitecore, the move is in keeping with their steady advance into the customer engagement space. It appears to be paying off as the company was named a Gartner leader in Web content management at the end of 2011. Additionally, the Denmark based company is powering more and more corporate sites like Comcast, Verizon and Heineken.
