FatWire (news, site) offers an update to its (Digital Asset Management) DAM solution as part of the strategic partnership with EMC.

Assets in Space

Last week, we covered the news that saw EMC adding social features to Media WorkSpace -- the principal user interface for EMC’s Documentum Solution for Brand Management. Now, FatWire is quick on the update with a new version of Media Workspace, a core component of its digital asset management solution. The two products integrate to provide asset management and social features for a fully rounded solution.

Amongst the new capabilities in this version of Media WorkSpace are:

  • Better video asset management with storyboards, renditions and version management as well as different views and players.
  • New social media features to help collaborative processes including assessment of the importance of each asset and how it relates to other assets in the repository.
  • A new personalized dashboard that will track all assets and provides users with lists of asset view histories as well as identify what the most frequently used assets are.

Assets can be used for media companies for their promotions, campaigns, advertising and so on.

Flexing Media Muscles

Powered by Adobe Flex, it gives users and managers with personal dashboards that provide appropriate notifications, depending on the user's role. On the social side, ratings and comments can be added to files while collaboration features allow teams to discuss and leave notes to make running campaigns more efficient.
