This week, IBM’s Domino migrations get easier with the release of DLItools’ Docova v3, Microsoft and Equisys team to integrate Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 with Office 365, Gartner takes a look at enterprise CMS vendors in its Magic Quadrant and ShareMethods upgrades document sharing, while PSIGEN and Nintex partner.
Easy IBM Domino Migrations
Web-based document management vendor DLI.tools has announced the release of Docova ECM v3. The latest Docova release has been designed to improve IBM Domino Document Manager migrations, provide a web platform for Lotus Notes applications and improve findability and access to information in context of a worker’s role within the organization.
Among the enhanced features and functions included in Docova are restricting the printing of documents, cross linking, folder filtering, strict version controls and document compare.
One of the shortcomings with most enterprise CMS solutions is the ability to cross link documents either manually or automatically. Docova now supports this and additionally provides a related links section to bring in other content such as website URLs.
Other functionality includes multi-server and offline use as well as improvements to the management of a multi-server environment.
As of today, Docova customers can upgrade to v3 via the support portal.
Integrating Dynamics With Office 365
Microsoft and Equisys have announced a partnership for the release of Zetadocs Express for Microsoft Dynamics NAV, a downloadable document management module that integrates Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 with Office 365.
This will provide NAV users on a Business Ready Enhancement Plan with document management capabilities at no additional license cost.
As the new foundation level edition in the Zetadocs family, Zetadocs Express for Microsoft Dynamics NAV maintains the product suite's focus on streamlining business processes such as invoicing, supplier invoice processing and proof of delivery tracking.
It also provides further automation and customization features such as sending batches of reports by email, or filing documents using barcode recognition, are available via upgrades to the Zetadocs Essentials and Zetadocs Plus editions.
Zetadocs Express for Microsoft Dynamics NAV is available to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 users with an active Business Ready Enhancement Plan via Microsoft's PartnerSource and CustomerSource portals.
Gartner, Enterprise CMS Vendors
If you’re interested in who’s who in the enterprise content management space, Gartner published its 2011 Magic Quadrant for the Enterprise Content Management industry.
The report confirms what many suspect: The content management landscape is changing quickly, and changing dramatically.
While the vendors that made it into the Leaders Quadrant remain the same as last year -- in alphabetical order EMC, Hyland, IBM, Microsoft, OpenText and Oracle -- the dynamics that are driving the market are not the same.
PSIGEN, Nintex Partner
PSIGEN has announced a new collaboration with workflow vendor Nintex to provide a paper to workflow solution for SharePoint.
In addition to the advanced scanning and capture features within PSI:Capture, the workflow system within Nintex products enables users to more effectively organize, manage and track their business documents and processes.
Nintex is very much focused on the end user experience and that is what drives our product offerings…PSIGEN helps organizations identify how to improve access to information, business process, collaboration and communication, and so the basis of our partnership is to improve the SharePoint experience for organizations as a whole by delivering benefits to all users,” Wayne Woolston, Managing Director of Nintex said.
ShareMethods Upgrades Document Sharing
ShareMethods has been busy, too, and this week announced the availability of an upgrade of its cloud-based service for document sharing.
The new upgrade comes with a range of dynamic features from open and social sharing to secure and private sharing.
The new sharing model for its document management service is enterprise-ready and integrated with Adobe EchoSign, Oracle CRM OnDemand and salesforce.com.
To more easily share files and collaborate with external team members, a method is needed to help create a simple webpage to view and potentially upload files.
To accomplish this, ShareMethods built a feature to allow users to share a specific content category with the public or securely with selected users (username/password required).
