VirtoSoftware (news, site), a provider of components for Microsoft SharePoint, has announced a new version of its Virto Workflow Monitor tool to monitor workflows in SharePoint. Version 2.0 includes a significant number of new features including extended search, filtering, management and reporting.

Virto Workflow Status Monitor is a SharePoint web part that allows users to quickly locate workflows in a site or site collection, manage them and see all related issues and errors. Without the component, administrators must check the status of each process and its child processes manually -- a very time and effort intensive exercise.

The SharePoint web part provides administrators with tools for searching and filtering workflows, reporting and workflow management with more features than those provided natively by the platform including:
- displays all the workflows running on a site
- provides information about their source lists and items
- quickly switch between the list view and a workflow details view
- generates workflow related reports
- sorting, filtering and grouping of the workflow list
The latest release of Virto Workflow Status Monitor, version 2.0, is fully compatible with SharePoint 2007 and 2010 and provides an impressive features for workflow monitoring and management.
Additional search and filtering tools allow administrators to:
- find workflows with a particular status within a site or site collection
- manually or automatically restart all the cancelled workflows
- workflow status graphical reports
Version 2.0 is compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008 Server. Virto Workflow Status Monitor is deployable to Microsoft SharePoint 2007, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft Windows SharePoint Foundation 2010, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint 2010.
Customers that have not migrated from SPS 2003 or that use WSS v2 cannot use the component. Additionally, the component requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and can display in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher is or Mozilla FireFox 3.0 or higher.
