SharePoint Conference 2014 is just a few months away. The Microsoft-sponsored event runs March 3 through 6 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Microsoft is firming up the roster of keynote speakers and setting the agendas for about 200 sessions on the increasingly integrated worlds of SharePoint, Yammer, Office, Office 365 and more.
Marketed as an event to help "connect, reimagine and transform," there will be some 24 inclusive tracks for the four major audiences of IT professionals, developers, executives and power users.
Microsoft Heading to Vegas
Following last month's successful tweet jam, Microsoft is firming up the line-up for its upcoming SharePoint Conference. The session database is powered by SharePoint Search with tags like workload, track, level, product and audience, allowing attendees to find the most relevant events.
Social business developers will get plenty of information on creating apps for Microsoft's recent Yammer acquisition and learn how to integrate it with SharePoint. Business-focused visitors can find sessions ranging from Developing Cloud-Hosted Apps with MVC5 to e-commerce solutions with Dynamics for Retail and SharePoint 2013 and Project and Portfolio Management in the Cloud.
Those and other events should help Microsoft-powered business improve their efficiency, driving better results from the data and engaging customers.
The official site is already divided by audience type, allowing potential attendees to connect with the people most useful to them. SPC14 will be followed by other events worldwide, including the European SharePoint Conference May 5 through 8 in Barcelona and the Australian SharePoint Conference on July 15 and 16 in Sydney.
Step into the Lab
Another popular feature of the conference are the labs, which offer hands-on opportunities to play with the products and receive technical advice from the experts. For developers, there's the chance to shine at the App Awards with Office Store winners, who will be featured at the show and get additional exposure on the store and in video advertising.
The conference tracks will focus on business- and IT-focused efforts like adoption, business intelligence, deployment, compliance, portals and social. Finally, the speaker line-up features a heavy roster of Microsoft program managers and developers, as well as representatives from third-parties like AvePoint, Blueprint ECM, Concatenate and Aptillon.
Expect big announcements about the rapidly evolving world of Office 365 and SharePoint Online to flow from the conference. Will we finally see Office for iPad? Perhaps that could be the star of the show.
