That’s according to Bitrix (news, site), which has just released Bitrix Intranet Portal 9.0, the company’s Enterprise 2.0 solution for collaboration, communication, social networking, workflow and knowledge management for small and medium-sized businesses.
The new version of Bitrix Intranet Portal 9.0 now features video conferencing and e-mail processing, better security, and new business process design and monitoring capabilities.
Video and Email Updates
Users can create virtual video meeting rooms, make online room reservations with real-time status display in the public calendar and initiate either an instant peer-to-peer video call or video conference for up to six participants.
The app employs the company’s “Send&Save” technology, a feature that duplicates email in the intranet, stores messages in dedicated discussions with shared user access rights, and indexes it for search.
There’s also an integrated SMTP server that sorts incoming email to dedicated discussions in Bitrix Intranet Portal and delivers notifications of group announcements, replies and new topics to users’ inboxes. Employees can leverage the workgroup collaboration without logging into the intranet portal.

Bitrix Intranet Portal 9.0 has been updated with more effective business process design and monitoring, according to the company. Now, owners can modify processes at any stage and users can receive assignments directly to their calendars and tasks as well as receive notifications via instant messenger or e-mail.
The business processes visual constructor received new functions such as issue escalation and decision-making timeout. Last, the product is now equipped with additional templates for typical activities such as business trips and vacation request handling.
