Cloud Sherpas Acquires Omnetic, Sustains Google Apps Love
Today Cloud Sherpas (news, site) is beefing up its managed Google Apps solutions via the acquisition of Omnetic.  As far as Google Apps deployment specialists go, this move puts Cloud Sherpas in a higher place  than any company outside of the search giant.

Numerically speaking, Cloud Sherpas has singlehandedly migrated over 800,000 users to Google Apps over the past three years, while Omnetic -- another Google Apps solutions provder -- has transitioned 100,000 users.

Meanwhile, the acquisition gives Cloud Sherpas a presence on the West Coast, adding San Francisco to Atlanta, Washington D.C., Austin, Chicago, New York and Philadelphia offices.

“As more and more businesses move to the cloud with Google Apps, they rely on the services of experts like Cloud Sherpas and Omnetic,” said Rahul Sood, Google’s Global Head of Partnerships. “We’re pleased to see these companies — who not only specialize in the cloud but also were built in the cloud — join forces. We look forward to working with them to bring the benefits of Google Apps to even more companies.”

As Google Apps continues to woo business folk, Cloud Sherpas looks to be increasing the bricks of their business. The startup has raised US$ 2.6 million in funding, and is reportedly one of the most installed applications in the Google Apps Marketplace.
