Mobile Entrée 2.1 Adds Support for SharePoint 2010 MySites, Windows Phone 7
H3 Solutions (newssite) barely has version 2.0 of their SharePoint 2010 mobile platform out the door and they are already announcing a nice set of enhancements that includes support for MySites.

There are a number of enhancements coming with Mobile Entrée 2.1, among them:

Location Capture

If you want to know the location of the person accessing your SharePoint site via a mobile device, you now can in Mobile Entrée. Devices must support the Javascript Geolocation API.

Support for My Sites

My Site has been improved greatly in SharePoint 2010. With an improved profile which includes a basic activity feed, notes, colleagues, tags and memberships, SharePoint is well on its way to stronger social networking. So it makes sense you would want to be able to access and update some of that information from your mobile device.

And now you can. Mobile Entrée 2.1 supports the ability to update your profile status (including your location -thanks to the above), send notes, view colleagues and newsfeeds and navigate directly to your My Content site.

All out of the box mobile apps offer configuration options for navigating to My Sites, as well as links to other users My Sites.

Power Pivot Support

The big news related to version 2.0 of Mobile Entrée was the new dashboarding and Excel business intelligence capabilities. Version 2.1 extends this a bit further by adding support for OLAP-based pivot tables. Excel dashboards that use pivot tables can now be viewed and filtered.

Content Navigator

A new content navigator improves on the way you view SharePoint 2010 web pages, wikis and articles. The view is now more web friendly making it easier to read. The navigator is best suited for web pages and wikis, but it's not limited to these alone.

In addition to all these application changes, Mobile Entrée now supports Internet Explorer on Windows Phone 7 in addition to all the other mobile platforms and devices such as iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Symbian S60, WebOS and Windows Phone.

These are all very nice enhancements to the Mobile Entrée platform. Improvements in user experience like the Content Navigator and My Sites will certainly be key for many organizations.
