Finding People with PeoplePoint
PeoplePoint is a desktop tool that resides on the Windows taskbar. When you need to track down a person, or get hold of their details quickly, click on the icon and enter a name. The user is instantly shown a list of all matches and the details of the right person's phone number, email address or My Site page.
As well as searching by name, users can search for "analysts", "support" or any other terms within their organization to find the appropriate people.
PeoplePoint is priced at £450 (US$ 647) for a farm license with no user limits. A 45-day trial is available from the ClearPeople site.
Cast Your Company's Voice
In the connected workplace, knowing what is going on has always been a challenge, as has being bombarded with irrelevant e-mails. CorpCast -- a truncation of Corporate Broadcast -- aims to make this problem simpler by going via SharePoint to provide the right people with the right updates.
CorpCast - Update the right users instantly
SharePoint users sign up to watchlists that are appropriate to them, be it a meeting schedule list, server incident reports or staff availability. Whenever a change is registered with the server, the correct people will be notified via a pop-up alert from their Windows taskbar.
Not only does this save filling up your inbox with endless missives, but one click on the message and you will be taken to the appropriate resource page, encouraging further interaction with the company intranet.
CorpCast is priced at £300 (US$ 431) for a farm license with no user limits. A 45-day trial is available from the CorpCast site.
