Redefining Web Conferencing with Mobile Support

In a time when the work force is becoming increasingly mobile, Saba (news, site), works hard to stay up to speed by offering nifty Web conferencing tools. The company's latest release consists of new and enhanced support for iPad and iPhone devices, enabling users to tap into online conferences while on the go.

iPad and iPhone users can now participate in collaborative online conferencing, complete with HD VoIP and ‘live’ listen and talk, secure SSL enabled access and recording playback.

With real interaction in mind, Saba Centra features a gestures toolbar which allows users to "raise their hand" and ask a question, respond with a yes or no answer, and applaud or even laugh at any comment during the session— all from their mobile device.

Other highlights of the update include:

Saba Centra Web Access: Gives mobile workers ability to access Web conferences and virtual training from any browser, anywhere. No Flash required
Windows Server 2008R2 support: Saba Centra can now run behind the firewall
Advanced telephone integration: Now take advantage of a call me back option to connect to a Saba Centra meeting via phone. Organizations can now purchase toll free minutes as part of Saba Centra’s SaaS based offering

“Today’s organizations are in need of advanced collaboration tools to reduce travel and improve productivity," said Jim Lundy, vice president and general manager, Saba Collaboration Solutions.

Further, you no don't even need a Saba Centra account to use the application. Invited parties without Centra can attend any session as a guest via the link in the e-mail invitation and entering basic guest credentials. You do however, have to be logged into an actual computer if you want to schedule a Saba Centra session.
