Zoho Works for the People

Zoho

Zoho certainly has the can-do spirit these days. It has launched two new web apps in the last week—an effort that is exhausting, yet exhilarating. Especially, because Zoho is focused on making things easier for People. And who doesn’t love people?!

Zoho People

Zoho People is the newest release targeted towards Human Resources and designed to help HR departments track hiring, projects, vacation time and all the other things that HR people do.

A part of its business suite, HR geeks and larger companies (100 + employees) are sure to be all over it; the average user, not so much. But that’s the point. While smaller companies can rely on a plethora of other databases to help them keep track, Zoho People strives to streamline HR processes for much larger ones.

Zoho People takes a seat alongside its other business partners: Zoho CRM, Zoho Meeting, Zoho Projects and Zoho DB. You can learn more via the new Zoho People site, which offers videos and tutorials explaining some of the new features.

Zoho Writer Updates

Zoho Writer added new features that allow Windows Mobile OS device users to read and edit documents and support online and offline access from Internet Explorer Mobile. It also supports Google Gears, which lets users work with Zoho Writer documents with or without network availability.

Expanding the mobility of Zoho applications is a top priority for the California-based company and with Zoho Writer running on IE Mobile, expansion is likely to send Zoho applications well beyond the iPhone.

I think that the Zoho people should first work more on their existing projects. Their Project Management software is still too buggy to be sold to serious organizations. We chose Wrike.com instead.
