Document management software provider eCopy has announced eCopy PaperWorks Plus. This product allows users to convert paper documents into electronic Portable Document Format (PDF) files that can be edited, searched, managed and organized. There are also some additions that make this application better suited for users looking to improve their workflows.

Recently, they released a new Information Governance Suite with an array of new Enterprise IT Management and Governance solutions, each designed to help organizations improve the economics of IT and provide greater business value.

Research and Markets, a research group that tracks the Enterprise CMS industry, has released a report that predicts the Enterprise CMS and Document and Records Management (DRM) markets will see drastic growth in the coming years, with sales numbers more than doubling from US$ 1.6 billion now to US $3.5 billion in 2012.

The Open Text — SharePoint saga continues, as the Enterprise CMS vendor announces new Open Text Storage Services for SharePoint.

This new service lets customers store Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 content in external storage devices, reducing wasted space by automatically detecting multiple instances of the same content.

The Enterprise CMS vendor Vignette announced the availability of a new service called QuickSite. The new offering from Vignette Professional Services (VPS) is designed to do exactly what it sounds like: quickly launch web sites and simplify the Vignette Content Management (VCM) implementation process.

The QuickSite service is said to be able to deliver a working implementation of Vignette “within weeks.”

It’s hard to know what the deal is with Vignette. Poor financial results and some unflattering press throughout the summer suggest all’s not well with this aristocratic web and enterprise content management brand. But awards aplenty and an enduring client-base chock-full of marquee names suggests the opposite.

The company has been kicked around a little bit lately in the press. And so, cutting a long story short, we got in contact with Dave Dutch, senior VP for products and marketing, to give him the chance to craft some arguments for why our readers should pick Vignette ahead of its competitors. In our quest to better understand eDiscovery and everything it has to offer, CMSWire has spent time talking with various companies that tackle the very essence of search and discovery of electronic documents.

In part one of this initiative, we reported on two companies that focus on the right side of the popular Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). The right side focuses on the processes involved in synthesizing and analyzing the data.

In our part two, we focused on the left side of the model — the one that deals with the information management part of the eDiscovery process.

Pegasus Imaging Corporation, a digital imaging vendor, released a new version of Prizm Viewer — the browser-based image viewer.

With Prizm Viewer v8 users can navigate, view, annotate and share images, CAD and PDF files residing in document management or Enterprise CMS’s via a web browser.
