Say compliance and people think accounting or litigation. However, Oracle (news, site) has just announced that it has taken to environmental compliance with the integration of an environmental metrics and data measuring solution into Oracle Applications.

Developed by one of its Platinum Partners Ndevr, which started life as a JD Edwards consultancy, the new solution will be pre-integrated into both Oracle’s E-Business Suite and JD Edwards EntepriseOne Financial Management.

Adding new data capture capabilities to both solutions, it supports setup definitions for assets as well as capturing data from a wide array of industries including gas and electricity.

Using the solution, data is analyzed, and is then converted into GHG metrics while Oracle’s Business Intelligence provides a reporting layer that presents the data in a set of pre-built extensible dashboards.

Currently, without Ndevr environment reporting required companies download data from JD Edwards system and manipulate it in Excel. Ndevr takes over this function and instead of mandatory gas emissions taking several months it can be captured and displayed on a daily basis.

The latest version of the Oracle E-Business Suite was designed to give organizations a global or holistic view of their operations. Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is an integrated applications suite of enterprise resource planning software.
