Alfresco Doles Out Content Excellence Awards

Ladies and gentlemen, the results are in for the first annual Alfresco Content Excellence Awards, where Alfresco’s top partners and contributors are recognized in the categories of Partner of the Year, Content Management and Collaboration Implementation of the Year, and Web Content Management Implementation of the Year in Europe and North America.

So without further ado, here are the results:

Content Management and Collaboration Implementation of the Year

This coveted award goes to Endeca, an information access software company that overcame the challenge of creating an interactive online community for its employees, customers and partners.

They achieved this by partnering with Optaros to create and build the Endeca Developer Network portal — the key online community destination for its developer network — which used Alfresco software to combine technical documents, best practices, tools and utilities, code samples, case studies and other information.

International Partner of the Year

Optaros, an enterprise-class provider of user-centered solutions gets this award. Powered by Alfresco, Optaros has led the largest scale enterprise content management deployments of Alfresco and the most innovative web content management solutions.

The Optaros user experience team has put together compelling Web 2.0 applications powered by Alfresco and has numerous reference deployments in the US and throughout Europe.

European Partner of the Year

Amplexor takes the prize in this category. One of the first members of the Alfresco SI Partner network in Europe, Amplexor implemented a legion of successful Alfresco projects with both public and private sector clients in Belgium during 2007.

North American Partner of the Year

Rivet Logic, an open source enterprise content management and portal expert, is a longtime favorite of Alfresco, having led several significant Alfresco projects around the US. They continue to support Alfresco with both marketing investments and technical contributions through the Forum and elsewhere.

European Contributor of the Year

Alfresco partner Atol Conseils et Développement, a French company that develops solutions for collaborative work and content management, takes home this award for its contribution of Category Navigation, which will be integrated into the Alfresco Enterprise core going forward.

Atol CD has earned its stripes through numerous contributions and improvements to the Alfresco core.

North American Contributor of the Year

This award goes to Jeff Potts, a veteran content management consultant and ECM Practice Lead for Optaros. Having worked with clients to assemble content-enabled Next Generation Internet solutions using open source software and open standards, Jeff has been a valuable contributor in the forums and the developer site wiki.

“Alfresco decided to create this awards program in order to recognize and praise top partners, customers and community members that are working with us to help advance and innovate in the field of content management,” said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco Software. “We are pleased to honor those that have helped contribute to the Alfresco core and to improve and extend our software.”

The Alfresco Content Excellence Awards will be presented to the winners at the Alfresco Community Conferences in San Jose, CA (March 12) and Barcelona, Spain (April 22).
