Features of ContentaView 3.6
It hasn't been that long since the last release of ContentaView, but this one has some nice distribution capabilities that customers will appreciate.

Web-Based Update Server
The biggest news in this new version is a new web-based update server. This new server provides the capability to deliver content from the server to the desktop easily and -- if required -- automatically via pre-determined intervals.
Since it's web-based, all that's required is an Internet connection -- no new hardware or software necessary.
Tracking Mechanism
Another new feature is a tracking mechanism. This tracking feature maintains an audit trail of every user connection to the server and every update that is downloaded.
Each client record can show the most up to date information on end users, publications, version and historical information. This is functionality that is definitely necessary with the compliance and records management issues every organization faces today.
Additional New Features
Several other new capabilities announced with this release include:
- Generic Export Tool: Users can export the XML content into a number of different file formats: RTF, Excel, Word, CSV and plain text.
- Improved Search: An improved search engine enables end-users to conduct searches in full text or categories of content using features such as phrase searching, search stemming, search excerpts and saved searches.
- Dynamic Troubleshooting: This version supports the S1000D process data module thus enabling dynamic troubleshooting using the built-in logic engine and sample data sets provided by XyEnterprise.
- Expansion of the ContentaView API: Provides the ability to customize the product for end-users and integrate it into external systems.
You can learn more about ContentaView and XyEnterprise Contenta enterprise content management system on their website or in our articles as we've covered the company's product enhancements quite a bit lately. They are definitely a company with extensive XML and Dita experience constantly providing new features and capabilities for their solutions.
