CYA Technologies, a leading provider of complete granular recovery solutions for enterprise content management (ECM) systems is ready to save you from a world a trouble. They have just released their latest Data Integrity Service offering for users of EMC Documentum and IBM FileNet P8 ECM systems, a service designed to find, document, and repair corruption in your ECM system
.This new Data Integrity Service identifies and rectifies the corruption that often exists in ECM
repositories between content and its associated metadata. These can be in the form of audit trails, digital signatures, workflows, etc.
Such corruptions have a number of causes ranging from user or administrative errors to viruses and application failures. These wide ranges of corruptions are so common that CYA
estimates it finds corruption within 80 percent of the ECM systems it works with during product deployment.
ECM system corruption is identified with CYA's Data Integrity Module, which scans the repository and documents all inconsistencies. CYA ECM experts then conduct an in-depth analysis using the report output and work closely with the client to put together an effective corruption remediation plan.
There's good reason to be concerned about corrupt ECM repositories, as failure to correct such issues can result in severe and costly consequences for a business or organization. For instance:
* Corruptions can put companies in non-compliance with a number of industry and government regulations, such as Sarbanes-Oxley and FDA CFR Part 11. These regulations require the preservation of information in its original state.
* Companies involved in lawsuits that are unable to produce documents and their associated audit trails in their original state can risk stiff fines as well as negative brand exposure.
* Companies suffer lost productivity and potential revenue when users attempt to access information that has been corrupted.
“Proactively correcting ECM repository corruption is an extremely important but often overlooked part of a comprehensive information protection strategy,” said Mike Fernandes, director, product management and services of CYA Technologies. “Most of the time, corruptions aren’t discovered until the affected information is needed – for example, during a legal proceeding or audit. Our new Data Integrity Service makes it easy for organizations to avoid falling victim to the consequences of inaccessible information.”
