If you have SharePoint Server 2007 in your organization and you are keen to start taking advantage of more than the Team Site functionality, SharePoint Solutions is offering a 3 day instructor-led course that you shouldn’t miss
It’s called Mission: Automation – SharePoint Workflow and InfoPath
and is designed to teach information workers how to leverage SharePoint Workflows, InfoPath and SharePoint Designer to automate business processes.
SharePoint Solutions is a company that specializes in SharePoint products and technologies training. They also do consulting and provide a number of add-on products
to the SharePoint product.
You may remember these guys from the yearly conference
they hold called the SharePoint Information Workers Conference.
The course is aimed at Information Workers, not developers and teaches how to use the out-of-the-box functionality within SharePoint and InfoPath. This is not a course about creating custom workflows using Visual Studio.
Most of the course covers the use of the Standard Edition of MOSS
or WSS, but several modules also cover functionality found in the Enterprise Edition of MOSS (i.e. Forms Server and Enterprise Workflows).
Here’s a list of the modules currently outlined for this course:
* Module 1: Getting Started with Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007
* Module 2: Getting Started with Forms Server
* Module 3: Getting Started with Workflow Designer
* Module 4: Interacting with External Data and Converting Existing Word and Excel Forms
* Module 5: Working with Digital Signatures
* Module 6: E-mail Enabled Forms and E-mail Enabled Lists
* Module 7: Storing InfoPath Data in External Databases and Reporting
* Module 8: Working with InfoPath Forms on a Mobile Device
You can read a detailed course outline
on the SharePoint Solutions site.
If you are an Information Worker, Webmaster, Power User, Systems Analyst, Help Desk Support, Enterprise Planner or Team, Application Designer, Trainer or just a developer who wants to learn the out-of-the-box functionality within SharePoint, then this course should help you learn to create or improve automated business processes.
SharePoint Solutions encourages students to complete one of two SharePoint courses covering the basics: Applying SharePoint 2007 - MOSS Core Features
course or the SharePoint 2007 Jumpstart
course. However, students who are already familiar with all the basics of SharePoint such as creating sites and workspaces, libraries and lists, document libraries, security, content types and site columns, editing pages and working with web parts will do fine.
The course will be held in several cities including:
* Dallas – March 18-20
* Chicago – April 8-10
* Nashville – April 29 – May 1
There are a limited number of seats available, so register early.
The course cost USD $2,195.00 and includes hotel accommodations in addition to tuition, course material, and course time meals – but there are a number of discounts available for former students, government, local students, academic and non-profits.
