IBM /JustSystems' Webinar on DITA in the Enterprise

Flummoxed by the DITA revolution sweeping Enterprise CMS? Wondering what it’s all about, or toying with the idea of adopting a DITA/XML architecture for your enterprise content?

If so then tune into a webinar hosted by IBM and JustSystems on February 5th, which will cover the main implementation issues involved in XML adoption, and sketch out a best-practice framework for implementing DITA in the enterprise.

The title of the webinar is The DITA Maturity Model: Fast-Tracking Your Enterprise Content and XML Adoption Strategy. Speakers include Amber Swoop from JustSystems; Michael Priestly, lead IBM DITA architect; and Andy Moore, publisher of KMWorld.

Specific matters on the agenda include a discussion of how any enterprise can start working with DITA, how to plan for and manage the required investment and associated ROI, and how to move an enterprise content management strategy from the back room to the board room and develop a framework for successful implementation.

Attendees will also learn how to:

• Assess the benefits of uniting enterprise content using DITA and XML for automation, efficiency and content re-use
• Employ a graduated approach to DITA investment using the DITA Maturity Model
• Quantify the savings of universal knowledge management before you launch into DITA adoption
• Assess your own capabilities and goals relative to the DITA Maturity Model and choose the initial adoption level to suit your enterprise

The co-authored maturity model will also be presented as a white paper and will be available to attendees.

The DITA standard is a simple, streamlined XML-based language for authoring, producing and delivering content, and is particularly useful when applied to content which is to be recycled for various channels.

The standard is a product of those smart guys at IBM and has found particular favor with technical writing departments to date.
