KM World Announces Finalists for 2009 Promise and Reality Awards
It is getting close to the end of the year and as well as all the happy, good will stuff, it’s also the time for awards and jockeying for best position in the market to kick-off 2010. Yesterday we gave you Gartner’s ECM Magic Quadrant, today it’s the finalists for the KM World (news, site) 2009 Promise and Reality Awards.
The winner is chosen from a list of Knowledge Management companies that nominate themselves (or are nominated) with the award given to the company that provides innovative solutions for best knowledge management practices into their business processes.
The winning company will be that company that shows they have taken the extra step to ensure that not only have they delivered their client companies with a given technology or knowledge process, but that they have also followed that up to ensure that it is properly embedded in the company’s work process.
As a result this year’s list includes many familiar names in the content management industry as well as others that would be less familiar, and the winners will be announced at KMWorld Conference and Exhibition to be held on November 17 – 19 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, in San Jose, California.
From the world of content management the KM Promise finalist list includes:
- Alfresco (news, site) which doesn’t really need an introduction, is an open source enterprise content management system with a flexible architecture that provides document management, web content management and collaboration software to enterprise customers worldwide.
- Autonomy (news, site) another one that doesn’t need an introduction provides technologies that enables computers form a conceptual and contextual understanding of any piece of electronic data, including unstructured information, such as text, e-mail, web pages.
- Cabinet NG (news, site) is another company we would all be very familiar with as a provider of document management and workflow software across many vertical industries and particularly in the SMB sector.
- Cormine Intelligent Data (news, site) which developed Zoogma, targets buried market and document intelligence as well as integrates with other data sources to collect, analyze and produce the most relevant data in response to search queries.
- eTouch SamePage (news, site) a scalable and dynamic enterprise-strength wiki solution that combines the best of wikis and blogs to support, streamline and manage collaboration team efforts.
- Expert System (news, site) the semantic indexing, search and analysis tool. The company released its two semantic Web products in the U.S. last year, COGITO Monitor and COGITO Focus, and is already creating a stir.
Just keep in mind that this is not the full list, and that just because some content management companies may not have nominated themselves and as result don’t appear on the list, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be there. Watch this space for the winners when they are announced.
