Continuing their monthly trend, Mimosa Systems (news, site), a leader in next-generation email, file and SharePoint archiving solutions, has announced that it has expanded the company's operations across Canada in response to increasing eDiscovery requirements.
Having opened an office in Ottawa, Ontario, Mimosa plans to expand their sales, marketing, technical support and engineering resources in hopes of offering Canada eDiscovery solutions focused on customer engagement.
It shouldn't be too hard though, since NearPoint, a content archiving solution, was recognized as a core component of a comprehensive solution for addressing the principals of electronic discovery in Canada as outlined by The Sedona Conference(R) Working Group 7, "Sedona Canada." Within those principals, the significance of eDiscovery was acknowledged and understood.
Entering the Canadian Enterprise
Venturing north of the border, Mimosa has named a Canadian Site Director and a Head of Sales Operations, with the aim of bringing the gospel of content archiving and eDiscovery to companies. By helping Canadian enterprises and their lawyers become more aware of eDiscovery requirements and the implications that e-documents have in the enterprise, Mimosa can start to corner the market and leverage their expertise within the archiving and eDiscovery industry.
Peter A. McInroy of ESI Consulting says that "electronic discovery is becoming a part of all Canadian civil litigation," due primarily to fears of being unprepared for litigation or the overwhelming costs associated with the search and discovery process.
From email to files residing on servers, most, if not all that information will be subject to be used as evidence in civil trials. Being able to manage unstructured data effectively not only helps in the case of legal issues, but promotes cost-saving and risk-reducing document management.
Leveraging eDiscovery with Advanced Microsoft Credentials
In addition to Mimosa's Canadian outreach, the company has also continued to deepen its partnership with Microsoft and has secured Microsoft certification for its Canadian operations.
One of 12 platinum Microsoft partners for Windows Vista, Microsoft Office and Exchange Server 2007, as well as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Mimosa has been recognized for its competencies in networking infrastructure solutions, ISV/software solutions and advanced infrastructure solutions.
These and other certifications demonstrate Mimosa's expertise with Microsoft technologies, positioning them well within companies built on the Microsoft platform.
