Nuxeo's Expanding from the Valley to the Alley

nuxeo_logo_2009.jpgOpen source enterprise content management (ECM) platform provider Nuxeo announced that it is opening a US headquarters in New York to complement its existing US offices in Boston and San Francisco (Silicon Valley).

Nuxeo’s US Presence

Paris-based Nuxeo expanded to the US in 2009, opening offices in Boston and Silicon Valley so that it could better serve its US-based customers. The company is now planting its roots even deeper in the United States by opening a Silicon Alley office. Nuxeo’s CEO and executives will be located in the new Manhattan office. Nuxeo also plans to establish a technical team at the new site.

Eric Barroca, Nuxeo CEO, said

NYC is ideally located between Silicon Valley and Europe, making it a good central location for our global business. There is also an active Java community in New York, with many skilled developers, which is another good reason for Nuxeo to be here.”

New Office = New Hires

In addition to the new office, Nuxeo is hiring resources for technical writing, pre-sales, online marketing, community management and development positions. The staff expansion isn’t just for the new Silicon Alley office. New team members could be located in Boston or San Francisco as well.

Nuxeo’s expansion is not unique. Economic pressure and growing content volume is driving many organizations to implement content management solutions to gain better control of content without adding large numbers of staff or lengthening business cycles. It will be interesting to observe if Nuxeo’s larger US presence means a larger share of the ECM market.
