SDL Launches LSP Program to Help Get Content Translated

SDL acquires translation mgt company

According to Global Information Management provider SDL, even though more than 90% of an international company's dynamic content is available to a global audience, only about 10% is actually translated into multiple languages. So what does SDL do? They launch a Worldwide Language Service Provider Partner Program to help these organizations get their content in the right format to the right customer.

“One of our main corporate goals at SDL is to provide joined up technology solutions across the translation supply chain. This means not only focusing on translation management systems, but also to enhance the value of our solutions, terminology management and desktop translation editors to provide more value to LSPs and translators.” This from SDL CEO Mark Lancaster.

The new program is modeled after the Idiom LSP Advantage Program. They recently acquired Idiom, a translation management provider.

SDL currently has over 150,000 desktop technology users and 480 enterprise GIM installs. They believe in the multi-vendor model and provide technology solutions that are not locked into a single vendor.

The launch of the new Worldwide Language Service Provider Partner Program is continued step towards promoting multi-vendor cooperation in the offering of language solutions while standardizing on SDL's technology. SDL will work closely with LSPs (Language Service Providers) who leverage SDL's GIM technology increasing the value they provide their customers.

The program will be managed by SDL's independent TRADOS Business Unit. You can find out more about becoming a partner in this program at www.lspzone.com/partners.
