XyEnterprise, Idiom Join Enterprise Flexibility Movement
Following closely on the heels of SDL’s acquisition of Dutch Web Content Management vendor Tridion, XyEnterprise and Idiom are joining forces on behalf of clients seeking content creation, management, translation and delivery solutions in one platform.
The fruit of this coupling is a software extension that will make XyEnterprise’s Contenta XML content management offering integratable with the Idiom WorldServer Globalization Management System (GMS). Authors, editors and publishers can identify specific tasks across multilingual and reusable content offerings without negatively impacting content that should not be edited or changed.
Smooth flow between the two systems also makes task delegation and collaboration simpler across content offerings with complex specifications, a boon for enterprises going global.

In specific, the XyEnterprise and Idiom extension yields the following benefits:
- Automatic tracking for language variants on any content component or document.
- Real-time info and version control throughout the workflow process.
- Storage and clear-cut management capabilities for admin-approved data in all languages, making multi-channel delivery execution a fuss-free job.
CTO Eric Silberstein of Idiom notes, “[Our] industry is undergoing exciting changes […] that further streamline the globalization of content and enable translation vendors and translators to more efficiently do their day-to-day jobs. Our collaboration with […] XyEnterprise reinforces our commitment to ensure customers are not held captive to one solution, but instead have an expanding range of choices.”
His statement reflects the CM industry’s propensity toward user teamwork, flexibility and even acquisitions.
Representatives of XyEnterprise appeared as featured speakers and sponsors at the Idiom WorldSummit User Conference in San Diego, CA this week.
