Check-out the New CM Pros Website

CM Professionals, the international content management community of practice (of which I am a founding member), has updated its public image with today’s launch of their new website.

“The outcome of our latest website questionnaire told us that our members wanted an improved website. Having a new website and better tooling was already our ambition, so we did our best to provide one to coincide with our Fall Summit, 27 November 2006”, says Ann Rockley, CEO of The Rockley Group (Canada) and former CM Pros President.

The contents of the CM Pros website has been brought back to the essentials and the navigation is made much more accessible. Members already responded enthusiastic on the new graphical design, made by Studio Zipper.

Erik Hartman, president of CM Professionals, explains the philosophy behind the choice. “Every CM Pros member should be able to edit website content without any instruction. After some searching, we concluded that Q42’s LIME (Less Is More Editor) combines both open standards, like XML, with user-friendly inline editing. It’s not a heavyweight CMS, but that’s never what we intended to have. This tool does the job.”

Another major change is the integration of the website with new association management software, provided by GiftTool.com. Rahel Bailie, Director of Marketing of CM Pros says, “This new set of tools lets me do my work more easily. Because the lynchpin is the membership module, I can slice and dice membership data in meaningful ways, and use it to service members better and more reliably. And online event management is painless now — the registration practically runs itself, and all I have to run is the summary reports.”

CM Pros Vice President Scott Abel is very happy with this new change. “We are convinced that members will be satisfied with the new website and our many volunteers with the more user friendly tools behind it.”
