Craig Muzilla, vice president and general manager of Middleware Business at Red Hat, says the combination of Red Hat's JBoss Enterprise Data Services Platform (JBoss EDSP) and Jaspersoft's business intelligence (BI) suite will offer businesses a simple and quick way to visualize their data. Muzilla explains that the new offering integrates multiple data sources into a single entry point, which provides businesses of all sizes an easier way to analyze crucial information.
Jaspersoft BI
Jaspersoft's BI platform provides security and auditing services, including a central repository that secures reports, dashboards and analysis views. The platform's metadata layer provides fields that represent relational or non-relational data, as well as filters and security rules. The web service-based platform can be accessed using Java, XML and HTTP protocols. Last month, Jaspersoft released Jaspersoft 4.2, which introduced a mobile BI software development kit (SDK), allowing developers to build native mobile BI apps or embed business intelligence into iOS.
JBoss EDSP
According to Red Hat, JBoss EDSP is a set of tools and runtime components that make it easier for applications and business processes to integrate and use data from a variety of sources. The Red Hat offering provides tools that allow users to create data views that are accessible through standard protocols, a repository for storing metadata and a runtime environment. Data can be accessed in real time, without being copied or moved.
