The Director of Optics is responsible for managing the optical systems for the Lytro light field cameras from early concept explorations through release to mass production and sustaining activities, where the optics include the camera main lens as well as refractive micro-optic structures. This responsibility includes managing both internal and external resources through idea exploration, simulation, concept development, optical design, supplier management, testing, characterization, fabrication, and validation. In addition, responsibilities include creating and/or evaluating optical designs for new product development, creating and/or evaluating designs for R&D, and interfacing with mechanical engineers to package and tolerance optical systems.
