Blogger.com Reborn -- New Look, New Tools
In an attempt to make this an extra exciting week for bloggers, Google have lead the way with the first major overhaul of Blogger.com.
Included in this update are a new look and feel ("Geek Chic"), 26 new design templates, email entry submissions, post comments (finally), blogger bio's (learn about the nerd), a couple of geeky things such as permalinks for posts and conditional rendering tags, and a dashboard feature that folks with multiple blogs will be pleased by.
All in all its a pretty no-nonsense release and promises to keep folks like Movable Type -- with their TypePad service and stand alone blogging tool -- on their toes.
Blogger.com is one of many services that facilitates web-based micro publishing or web journaling, without the need for technical or web design skills. Others (some free) include TypePad, Movable Type, Radio Userland, Grey Matter, and BlogSpot.
