Seattle-based Software as a Service provider Ingeniux Corp. said today the company is licensing 51degrees.mobi's mobile Premium Device Data and will use the technology as part of its mobile solutions package. The software will be integrated with its CMS web content management and Cartella community and collaboration software, allowing developers to target content delivery to most mobile devices and accelerate advanced feature development.

Calling mobile "...the future of the web,” Jim Edmunds, Ingeniux president and CEO, said: “With 51Degrees.mobi, our customers get the most accurate mobile device data in the industry, packaged in an open .NET development platform, and fully integrated with the Ingeniux CMS web content management and Cartella software. The company said the 51Degrees.mobi device repository offers developers up-to-date mobile device profiles that include literally thousands of devices in combination with various operating systems and browsers. The technology goes beyond simple browser or “user agent” detection by providing device specs for leading mobile platforms, not just tablets and smartphones, but also into EBRs (eBook readers), popular game consoles and specialty devices.

At last count, 51degrees.mobi said there were 200,000 developers worldwide, and in February tracked 500 new web sites per day using its technology to deliver 179 million devices.
