Nuxeo World — the company’s first global customer and partner conference — kicked off this morning in Paris. Nuxeo (news, site) CEO Eric Barroca keynoted the event with a talk on Enterprise CMS as a platform for content apps, 2010 highlights and milestones, and Nuxeo’s plans for 2011.

The latest version of the software includes over fifty changes and enhancements contributed by dozens of developers.

The Open Source community frequently attracts very intelligent, motivated and experienced developers driven by pride, personal curiosity and peer recognition to develop valuable solutions. No matter how much personal satisfaction developers receive from seeing the result of their efforts however, software developers still have to pay the bills and have some money left over to eat. So, how can software that isn’t for sale actually make money?
