SilverStripe Welcomes New CEO to Open Source Fold

By Angela Natividad
Oct 25. 2007

Co-founder Tim Copeland has announced the ascension of Brian Calhoun as the new CEO of open source firm Silverstripe, the mum-friendly CMS that was nominated “Most Promising” by Packt. (By week’s end, they just might win it, too.)

Brian Calhoun is a Silicon Valley cowboy with about 20 years of software experience notched to his belt. We look forward to seeing how his visions shape the company.

Tim will be pursuing opportunities to expand SilverStripe under his own new title, that of Business Development Director. And he’s throwing himself into the realm of exploration with gusto. Check out his interview with Dion Almear, who founded Ajaxian.com and currently works at Google.

Earlier this month, SilverStripe released v2.1.0 of its primary offering, specially enhanced for comment modders and widget-wielders.

The guy in the youtube video is Sigurd Magnusson, their CMO who is often in San Francisco, not Tim as you allege. Although they're based in NZ, they seem to be all over the world...

Well spotted John, myself and Sigurd have been mixed up in this commentary :-)

I'm now the business development director, focusing primevally on international growth. Brian is the new CEO and will be leading the company per sec. Sigurd remains the chief marketing officer.

Exciting times ahead :-)
