SharePoint Advanced Backup and Recovery
CommVault Systems, a provider of data management solutions, has announced that CommVault Galaxy backup and recovery software, part of the CommVault QiNetix suite, will provide enhanced data management services for SharePoint Portal and Windows SharePoint Services' sites.
A key part of the solution is the ability for customers to perform individual, point-in-time document recovery.
The CommVault Galaxy for SharePoint Products and Technologies solution includes powerful "point-in-time" browse and search capabilities, and enables fast, granular document recovery of individual documents. SharePoint Products and Technologies stores its data within a SQL or SQL based (MSDE) database.
"Customers are adopting Windows SharePoint Services to enable next generation file sharing, as well as document collaboration, to increase individual and team productivity," said Radhesh Balakrishnan, senior product manager, Windows Server Division at Microsoft Corp. "By providing the ability to protect and recover SharePoint data at a granular level, the CommVault solution can help customers improve operational efficiency."
