The Mac version of Jive's updated Producteev
Social task management for free. That’s the appealing price tag of a rebuilt version of Producteev, the tool that Jive Software bought last fall.
This week, the Palo Alto, California-based Jive unveiled the standalone revised product, which enables individuals or teams to track and manage tasks. The new, no-cost version of Producteev sets no limit on the number of people on a team or in an organization. Previously, Producteev offered a free version for individual users but charged for organizations with more than three users.
Integration with Platform
Jive offers an enterprise social business platform, which has included a fairly rudimentary task management tool. The company said it is working on integration of a new project- and task-management module, based on the updated Producteev, with the intent of offering a more complete collaboration platform a la IBM Connections.
Ilan Abehassera, Producteev founder and currently the senior director of product management at Jive, said in a statement that the free version can help improve productivity and collaboration, “while further accelerating overall use of our app at every level of a company.” The company said Producteev has been “rebuilt from scratch.”
The redesign of the updated Producteev, in versions for the Web, Macs, iOS and Android, now offers what the company called “a more conceptual, more organized approach to social task management.” An updated Windows version is in the works.
Multiple Teammate Assignment
Tasks can now be assigned across any level in a business. A new network layer is designed for sending task notifications to any individual or group, such as an HR team assigning everyone in an organization the task of reviewing benefit statements.
Other new features include the ability to assign tasks to multiple teammates at once, viewing task streams by category or individual, and following the status of specific assigned tasks. Users can also now prioritize through one-click filtering, and, to improve searching, tasks can be categorized through tagging.
Additionally, a new RESTful API is designed to shorten development schedules for creating apps that work with Producteev.
