Atlanta Social Media Conference Kicks Off Friday
Southern hospitality meets social media this Friday, September 25 as practitioners from all over the southeast converge in Atlanta, GA to extol the business value of social media.

Maybe you joined Facebook because your wife or your teenage child would not stop talking about it.

Maybe you have heard of Twitter but you don't understand the usefulness of 140 character posts.

Maybe you are overwhelmed by Plaxo and LinkedIn requests and you don't know why you would want to use either service.

Bottomline: You want to know what is in it for you?

If this describes you, then get to the Georgia Tech Research Institute by 8:30 am EST on Friday.

Just Some of the People Presenting

  • Chris Brogan: The conference "headliner", Chris is one of the most well-known names in social media. He will be signing copies of his new book, Trust Agents (co-authored with Julien Smith), and speaking on the Cultural Changes Required To Embrace Social Media.
  • Jeff Turner: Jeff has over twenty years experience as both a successful entrepreneur and a senior executive in a large corporation. He will be kicking off the presentations and will talk about why Social Media is Here to Stay.
  • Seth Miller: The Digital Marketing Director for Turner Broadcasting System, TNT, and Turner Classic Movies will discuss How a Traditional Media Company Uses New Media Tactics.

The list above is just a subset of a full day of presentations, case studies, and speaker panels.  The full event program is available for download.

What is There to Do On a Friday Night in Atlanta?

To quote the world's most interesting man: "The after party is the one you want to attend".

And the New Media Atlanta conference is no different.  After the presentations and networking wind down, all attendees are encouraged to head over to Ten Pin Alley in Atlanta's famous Atlantic Station for a "post conference strategy session".  NOTE: All strategy to occur between games of bowling.

For more information, head over to the website or follow the conference information on Twitter.
