WordPress and LinkedIn Unite Via an Application

Both WordPress and LinkedIn have been around the block for some time now. But until recently, there was no application for integrating the two beyond a badge from your LinkedIn account. WordPress has decided to change that.
Named 2007’s Best Social Networking CMS, WordPress is living up to its award. The WordPress app for LinkedIn allows you to “…share ideas and updates with your LinkedIn network, keeping your trusted contacts in the loop, effortlessly,” according to WordPress’ blog.
Matt Mullenweg on the WordPress App for LinkedIn
Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of WordPress, does a wonderful job explaining the new plugin in this video:
As you can see, using this application is easy. With the ability to filter what is shared via the LinkedIn tag, you are in control of how your content is sent to your contacts on LinkedIn.
Other Applications for LinkedIn
The WordPress app for LinkedIn is wonderful and easy to use — all you have to do is add it to your LinkedIn account, configure it and you are staying in touch with business contacts around the world instantly. LinkedIn offers some other great apps as well:
Blog Link by Six Apart allows you to connect almost any blog to your LinkedIn account.
Huddle WorkSpaces provides private, secure online workspaces complete with collaboration and sharing tools to allow you to work from almost anywhere.
My Travel allows you to let others see where you will be and find your friends while you are out on the town. This is a great way to get together with those business contacts around the globe when it’s convenient for you both.
You can find these and more great apps for LinkedIn here.
Keep an eye out for more great apps and updates from both WordPress and LinkedIn. In the meantime, take a look at these great magazine themes for WordPress.
