The folks behind Agility content management suite have announced the SaaS offering's August 2011 release, improving the way publishers drive content through digital channels and introducing a new development bar for easier access to tweaking and access tools. This release changes the way content is published or accessed, especially considering multiple data streams and channels.
Differentiated Channels for Content Access
Agility cites five channels for publishing content, namely the website, mobile website, mobile app, Facebook Page and content API. Publishing content on Agility will entail being able to post through these different digital channels, and this particular release lets readers selectively access content based on the "web servers," which are the domains and URLs that the digital channels reside on.

Among the main features of this August release is the ability to direct traffic depending on the user-agent. User Agent Matching can be used to detect what kind of device the reader is using, and push content designed specifically for such a device. For instance, the main website will be served when a desktop browser is used to gain access to the site, but Agility will serve a mobile version when a mobile browser is used to gain access to the site.
Content is delivered depending on either custom URLs/domains or user-agent matching
The August Release of Agility also features a development bar accessible under Developer Mode, both from desktop and mobile browsers. The browser toolbar gives access to options such as website previews from different device types and languages. The Agility August 2011 release also features several dozen other new features, including a new login page, better international languages support, UI improvements and some feature inclusions from customer and partner requests.
