Alert: What's Coming for Open Source CMS in December 2009

DotNetNuke
In November, DotNetNuke (news, site) held its third annual DotNetNuke OpenForce Connections event as part of Microsoft's DevConnections conference. At the show, they announced the winners of the OpenForce Community Choice Awards for the OpenForce Connections division:
- Best Overall Site went to Rehab
- Most Creative/Original Site went to The Silkroad Project
- Best eCommerce Site went to Sake Social
- Best Informational Site went to Rehab
eZ Publish
In November, eZ Systems (news, site) was named to the EContent 100 list, along with some other regulars in CMSWire. Coming in December:
- A webinar on December 9 about multi-channel delivery with eZ Publish
- Exhibiting and presenting at the Online Information/IMS exhibition and conference in London
- Participation in the Computer World CMS Event in Denmark on December 16
The eZ Systems team also continues their work on their new community portal around eZ technology.
Hippo
In November, the folks at Hippo CMS (news, site) secured a spot on the Deloitte EMEA Fast 500 for the third consecutive year, making it the only open source company earning the ranking three times in a row. Coming in December, you'll find Hippo:
- Exhibiting and presenting at the Gilbane CMS Congress in Boston from December 1-3
- Presenting at the GapGemini JAVA Night in Utrecht, in the Netherlands, on December 7
- Speaking in London at the "Public Funds in the UK: Open Source for Document and Content Management?" event
KnowledgeTree
In November, KnowledgeTree (news, site) announced the KnowledgeTree 3.7 Community Edition's release candidate. New features and enhancements include:
- Deployment on Zend Server for enhanced performance
- Document thumbnail preview
- Support for Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, along with IIS 6 and 7
- RPM and DEB packages for Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux
- New types of document properties
- Support for the CMIS and OpenSearch standards
- Setup wizards for installation, configuration and upgrading
- Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese translations
Magnolia
On November 15, Magnolia CMS (news, site) celebrated its sixth birthday. They also released Magnolia 4.2 CE and EE with new features:
