Advanced Authoring Application Revolutionizes Web Publishing of Complex Content With Full Integration to BroadVision Portal.
BroadVision, Inc., a global provider of self-service web applications, today announced the release of BroadVision QuickSilver 2.0, a significant upgrade to the popular application that allows business users to create and publish lengthy, complex documents in multiple output formats (including HTML, PDF and Postscript). BroadVision QuickSilver 2.0 builds on the strengths of the legacy product by automating publication of complex content to BroadVision Portal environments. New features include automatic multi-file publishing to the web, intra- and inter-file links, and personalization based on qualifiers, categories and attributes established in the portal environment.
Hundreds of industry leaders including Bausch & Lomb, Boeing, Ford Motor Company, Lufthansa, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and the U.S. Postal Service use BroadVision QuickSilver to automate and streamline the process of creating and publishing complex documents. The new release gives them the opportunity to extend their authoring environment to the web without re-tagging or reformatting the information.
"We anticipate that BroadVision QuickSilver 2.0 will prove to be an indispensable part of our authoring environment and serve as a principal link to our increasingly popular delivery channels," said Doug Adkisson, Senior Legal Counsel, Legislative Services Agency, State of Iowa. "Automating delivery of intelligent documents to the web will enable us to reduce costs, increase productivity, and provide greater access to essential publications and information to our end users."
BroadVision QuickSilver 2.0 is the most significant upgrade to the product since it was acquired from Interleaf in January 2000 and signals BroadVision's ongoing commitment to the technology.
"Evolving the QuickSilver product is like renovating a landmark building," said Dr. Pehong Chen, president and CEO, BroadVision. "It's great to improve it, but not at the expense of the fundamental integrity of the product. We appreciate the fierce loyalty of our QuickSilver customers and are delighted to deliver more of a good thing - the robust authoring tool they know combined with instant publishing to the portal environment."
