The CODiE Awards are on our radar again for 2009 and the finalist announcements are expecting to be flooding the internet wires. In this case, web content management vendor Clickability has made the list of finalist again for the Content Management category.
What are the CODiE Awards
The CODiE Awards started by in 1986 by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). It is the only peer-reviewed awards program of its kind and is designed to recognize technology and solution leaders in categories such as Software, Education, Content and Corporate. These categories are broken down further into other sub-categories.
To be considered for a CODiE you have to enter your solution and then submit your solution to a round of reviews. The first round of reviews is completed by a panel of judges and has been completed for 2009.
At this point, a second round of reviews occurs online by peers who are member of the SIIA. This review period is expected to start March 16 and runs for 30 days.
A final third round of reviews and voting happens on May 4 -- for Software and Content finalist only -- for SIIA members attending one of several SIIA conferences.
Awards are announced at the 2009 CODiE Awards Gala on May 5, 2009.
Content Management Category
There are a number of sub-categories in the Software Category. One of these is Content Management. The Content Management award goes to the platform or solution that "best adds value to content accessed or distributed by the enterprise or the end-user." Functionality includes the creation and maintenance of content for the web and intranet.
Here's what the judges look for:
- Ease of posting and manipulation
- Fulfillment of key attributes
- Functionality of key attributes
- Management tools
- Translations between different formats
- User interface
