Emagine Raises the Bar for .NET Web CMS
The Belgian wizards of Emagine have released the latest version of their flagship content management solution, emagiC CMS.NET v5.0. This latest release brings spiffy new features that should bring smiles to the faces of current clients.
The emagiC CMS.NET product, completely based on Microsoft’s .NET technology, is intended to help both SME’s and large corporations increase productivity and gain better control over the process of website maintenance. It does this by eliminating the technical barriers between allowing one to be the content creator and content publisher. EmagiC is also notable for its scalability and rich feature set, which appeals to expanding companies.
Among emagiC CMS.Net v5.0’s new features are XHTML 1.1 compliant regions and 'contentpanes' that are completely based on <div> elements, a localization tool for the administration interface, the ability to automatically create thumbnails from uploaded images, toolbar sets for the wysiwyg editor that can be customized, improved navigation within the XForms administration screens, as well as a number of minor changes and bug fixes.
Emagine also announced some future plans in their latest newsletter. Wherein they mention that they are “still working hard on the improvement of the XForms module to make it even better.” They also claim to be “studying the possibilities to rework the module based on the XML functionality of SQL Server 2005 and, at the same time, to integrate multi-language functionality into the module.”
We can also expect the next release to include search functionality for the XForms and email notifications.
Emagine, a Belgium-based ICT company, has been in the game for over 7 years, all the while developing a CMS framework adept at building and maintaining Internet, Extranet, Intranet and Portal sites. With partners and resellers in Europe, America, Africa and Asia, they are shaping up to be a SMB/departmental CMS force to be reckoned with.
