Enhanced Editorial Capabilities Key to Nstein WCM 4.0

Nstein Releases WCM 4.0 with Improved Editorial Functionality

Nstein, provider of digital publishing solutions for media and publishing companies has officially released the latest version of their Web Content Management System. Version 4 boasts a number of editorial enhancements not the least of which is full integration with the Nstein TME — text mining engine and DAM — Digital Asset Management System.

We recently profiled Nstein and gave you a quick overview of their solution set which is aimed at helping media companies develop approaches to create, publish and monetize content.

Along with an overview of the entire product line, CMSWire also had the opportunity to have a sneak peak at the new version of the Web CMS and we liked what we saw.

According to Nstein, they developed the newest version of the CMS by listening to the needs of their clients. These needs focused on “editorial productivity by providing intuitive tools for the creation and management of complex sites and microsites”.

New Features of Web CMS V4

There are a number of new features and enhancements with this latest version, some of which include:

  • Multi-site/multi-channel content management
  • Out-of-the-box conversion and importation of content from popular XML formats
  • Multiple page articles
  • SEO Referencing/ SEO Toolkit
  • Faceted Search: Advanced XML site search, topic clustering, most-rated, most viewed stories
  • Enhanced categorization including taxonomies, tagging
  • Advertising
  • Flexible design templates

Personal Dashboard

When you first log-in you see your own personal dashboard with a number of widgets showing things like your daily tasks and work. Dashboards can be role-based and based on a single user or group of users.

The dashboard has an ajax-based user interface and there are a number of pre-built widgets available as well as an out-the-box sample dashboard you can use as a starting point.

Adding Media Assets to Articles

You can search for photos and other media to add to your article. Once you find what you are looking for, it's as simple as dragging and dropping that asset into your article.

In Context Editing

In Context Editing

This version of the WCM includes in-context editing. In this case, in-context editing includes not only the ability to change text in the article, but also the ability to move widgets around on the page if the editor has the appropriate permissions.
