Kentico Web CMS Supports Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2
The last little while Kentico (news, site) seems to have been focused on adding social networking capabilities to their Web Content Management System. But apparently that's not the only thing they have been working on.
Yes, it's true, the latest version of Kentico does marry social networking and web content management, but the company has been working on the more technical aspects of its solution.
Today, they announce that Kentico now supports both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. In fact, versions 4.0 and up will run on these platforms — good news for those who may be looking at upgrading the backend, but not yet the solutions that run on them.
Martin Hejtmanek, CTO at Kentico Software says, “Making our application compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 helps us offer our customers compelling benefits, including improved security and reliability features, tools to keep them connected to data stored on the Web and sophisticated management feature".
While we bask in the enjoyment that Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 might bring us, we also sit back and patiently wait to see if all the new changes expected for version 4.1, slated for August, will also behave on these platforms.
