Microsoft today made available for download its new Forefront line of software for Sharepoint. Announced in October, Forefront for Sharepoint promises to add virus and malware protection, speed and caching improvement and a security management console to SharePoint (MOSS) 2007 Servers.
The beta download, available on Microsoft’s website, is a 4 month trial and weighs in at a slight 28.7 MB.
Forefront is the new group brand of security products spun off from the ‘Antigen’ moniker from Sybari. Microsoft purchased and absorbed the Antigen product line last year.
