New Telerik Tools Boosts Code Monkey Efficiency
Just what you need — really, you probably do — another tool to help you develop Microsoft .NET applications. Telerik (news, site) brings you JustCode, a code analysis and refactoring tool for Visual Studio.
Helping Developers Be Productive
Telerik,a provider of Microsoft .NET tools and applications (including a Web CMS) acquired JustCode recently from a German company named Omnicore.
Supporting Visual Studio 2005 and 2008, JustCode works for the following languages: C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, XAML and JavaScript. It provides rapid notification of solution wide errors and warnings. It's code analysis engine runs outside of Visual Studio’s devenv.exe, resulting in better performance.
JustCode Features
JustCode has a number of features, including:
- Code Analysis: Real time analysis of code changes across your VS solution, including cross language code analysis
- Full support for Javascript: Navigate through your Javascript code, perform basic refactoring
- Refactoring: More refactoring capabilties than Visual Studio including cross language support, introduce variable, inline variable and move type to namespace
- Extensible: Built using Microsoft Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF), JustCode can be customized by copying new extensions to a directory and/or removing ones you do not need.
You can have an indepth look at the different capabilities of each feature. And if you look at the comparison of capabilities between JustCode and what's built into Visual Studio, you see that JustCode has a lot more functionality to support your development efforts.
If you are interested in a deeper look at JustCode, Telerik has a blog post outlining many of the features of this beta product.
JustCode was launched at PDC2009. Here's a demo to get you started:
