News about companies expanding and opening new offices in developed economies is still rare, so when the announcement was made that Sitecore (news, site) will expand its EU operations and open a new office in Germany, it was bound to draw attention.
Sitecore is a .NET Web CMC provider, and a leader in what has been labeled as Gartner's “Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management." More than just a Web CMS provider, Sitecore offers additional products and numerous integrations with other products and solutions.
Sitecore Expands on the DACH Market
Sitecore has clients and installations all over the world. They have local branches in several European countries, including Sitecore Deutschland, which is enhanced by a new office and training facility in Bremen. The new branch is a regional office, concentrated mainly on the needs of the DACH (an abbreviation for Germany, Austria and Swiss) market.
The German-speaking European countries are a market many vendors tend to overlook, or at least not devote to specifically, but this market has quite a lot of potential. In fact, many rich corporations are either of DACH-origin or at least have offices in one or more of the German-speaking countries. Such a market is one not to miss. Sitecore and its new German office are intended to fill the gap and offer training and support to the DACH market segment.
Sitecore on the Hunt for New European Clients
At present, the list of clients includes many top European companies. Sitecore's site lists Austrian Airlines, ERGO NIVEA, SAP, SGS and Tele2 as some of its major DACH clients and it seems they don't plan to stop there. The new key hires for the German office are professionals with a lot of experience on the DACH market, leaving many with the prediction that Sitecore will gain several new clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
