Six New JumpBoxes for phpBB, TikiWiki and Chums

jumpbox new appliances

JumpBox, provider of virtual appliances to simplify server software deployment, has just released six new appliances for open source products. The JumpBox library has been bolstered with new applications for Cacti networking graphing system, phpBB bulletin boards, ProjectPier project management, TikiWiki, PmWiki, and MoinMoin- another Wiki product.

The total number of JumpBox appliances now stands at twenty.

What is a JumpBox?

[Sigh…]
Do we have to go through this every time? JumpBox packages open source products into easy to use deployment stacks, and lashes on useful features like automated backups and a web-based control panel for common system functions.

The whole package is rendered as a 'turn-key, pre-configured unit' that runs on top of a virtualization platform. Supported virtualization environments include VMWare, Xen Open Source, Parallels, Virtual Iron and Microsoft Virtualization.

Other OSS products to have been given the JumpBox treatment include Alfresco, Bugzilla, DokuWiki, Drupal, Joomla!, Mantis, MediaWiki, OTRS, PunBB, TWiki, Trac/Subversion, vTiger CRM and Wordpress.

“We are really excited to be able to offer twenty great Open Source applications in the time saving JumpBox format,” said Kimbro Staken, JumpBox Co-founder and CEO. “and there's still more to come as we continue adding new applications and further empower our customers to easily evaluate, deploy and manage these powerful open source solutions.”

Easy-peasy OSS deployment and management on the server? Sounds good to us. Go on over to JumpBox to learn more.
